The Incredible Slowness of Light

The light reflected from snow crawls into the room
It will be Spring before it will change
Green will slow, impeded by just the air

Vibrating madly, our blue scatters into the sky
It is eight minutes old, yet we see forever
As it adds tiny heat to our skin

And light comes down to you and is gone
All of your shadow is there, without velocity
However slowly we see, only the dark is still.
