Spansule

I would deliver health over time

Enough to quell the Banshee of disorder

That squalling pediatrician’s waiting room

Where all the children will now get sick

And all the wet Mothers circle candles

And kindle herbs, the smoke whispering

Near the fiery foreheads of babies

Children heal or die so quickly

The medicine sometimes smothering

Only ashes.
