Time goes, as it does, by
We have written everything down at some point
We have been married a long time
We write the things and put them in envelopes
The envelopes should not be opened
because there’s no one to send them to
except each other
and we already know what’s in them-
Things like, “Put things in envelopes”
and “Today we saw the Cooper’s Hawk”.
We ride on top of all the envelopes now
and there is no need to make more envelopes
because that would be too many
and we might have to move the furniture.
