These ruminative essays and technical white papers are usually instigated by my curiosity about things that are unexplained. The answer “No one knows” to an intriguing question is highly annoying to me; if I can’t find the answer, I will postulate one, which is what a lot of these essays are – postulations. The technical papers, on the other hand, are more imputations of a solvable problem or interesting feature, usually derived from my work at HardWay. But not always.
I have been a technical writer for my entire career. I strive to explain complicated functions in a pragmatic way, both for the reader and myself. Technology is what separates us from other animals. The technology of zoo cages is fascinating, for instance. (sorry).
