They hung Death from a pole

in every little town in America

and all the people came

 

They took X-Rays of Death and then

prescribed things for people

who got near Death

 

Or maybe they stood in a circle around Death

and threw stones and chanted at him for some reason

Perhaps they were angry that they had to wait

in line for so long to torture him.

 

Look, it is alright to kill Death over and over but

He will be with and among us
