The smoke is black, which I think means
It is a slow, cool fire enveloping my house
I have 12 things to do at once, and obviously
None of them will put out the fire.

The smoke curls and spirals and hides light
And the fact that my house has right angles
And everything that bound me to my house
Combines with oxygen and floats into air.

The smoke is white, which evidently means
The fire is going out, or has died
Yet something in my house is ticking
It must be cooling or heating up.
