On Floating Bodies

“On Floating Bodies” by Archimedes
Was overwritten by monks in the 13th century
With a Christian text, from top to bottom, like this:
            GOD
            GOD
            GOD
            GOD
            GOD

Archimedes original Greek went from left to right, like this:

            Buoyancy of various things
depends on the weight of the thing
and the amount of water it displaces.
            A simple formula reveals
            whether a thing floats.

X-ray fluorescence and infrared absorption were used
To reveal the Science underneath all that obscuring God.
