Overflow, Buffer

a)    The blistering plants are here for a reason
b)    Unsettled, the sky levers clouds at everyone
c)    Frenetic animals disperse like water pepper from soap
d)    Splintered birds practice with broken wings
e)    Pressure is graduated air, only alive at the very bottom

I cannot parse all of this data at once, or even sequentially
It would take eons, galaxies would join and collapse
The circle of that which is mined feels excluded, as if I am too small
Or superfluously brief like the sex of insects, husks now

Everywhere water is in motion with me, heavy
Green and black, thick with unimagined stars
Unimaginable distance separates us from who we became

I will not be the stars on a soft night
That is what I should be, joining the dance, heat
And various explosions that expand into curious clouds
Where vacuum grabs them and forces them to gestate
For a billion years, forces the treacherous birth again

f )     I see meteors, a tiny bright flash from a streak of time
g)     I see them where they were, I imagine what they looked like
h)     I suspect they are fireflies
i )     I am a bat swooping at them, born an excellent predator with no use for eyes.
